John Jude Palencar is aa CCAD Grad with artwork you've probably loved at some point in your life and didn't know it! We get to celebrate both World Art Day and the end of Library Week with this one because he's an illustrator and fine artist who focuses on Fantasy and Sci Fi, including some of your favorite book covers - even working with another Ohio Local, R.L. Stine.

This piece in particular is for the cover of the 2nd book in the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini, Brisingr.  We adore the rich tones and detail in this one and we're excited to bring a golden literary yarn to the shop.

If you're looking to match the other dragons for a full set, we'd recommend
Batsquatch for Eragon, Garnet for Eldest, and Beast of Busco for Inheritance.

A Note From Ashley - I spent a lot of time as a kid in our local library branch, sitting on the floor of the fantasy section sifting through books until I found my treasures to bring home for the week. There were a few covers that I saw over and over and I always remembered the heads of a certain set of dragons peeking out for the shelves. I didn't read the Inheritance Cycle series until I was in college and wish I'd picked them up sooner. I was thrilled to find that Palencar was local to us and to put a new name to those steadfast dragon faces from my childhood.
