French for “red dwarf”, Nain Rouge is a create whose appearance is said to presage misfortune in Detroit, Michigan. He was said to be seen before the 1967 Detroit riots, and each spring the city hosts a Marche du Nain Rouge in which the creature is chased out of the city and an effigy burned to banish the evil spirit from the city for another year. He is said to have red eyes and rotten teeth!

Our Nain Rouge is a red yarn with splashes of black and a dirty gold.
