Lake Superior

Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area and third largest in the world by volume. It is the northern most Great Lake, straddling the United States-Canada border with the Ontario province to the north, and surrounded by the states Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan. Of the Great Lakes, it is the deepest (and perhaps the spookiest), having earned the statement that “Lake Superior never gives up her dead.”

Lake Superior drains into Lake Huron and then to the other Great Lakes. The Ojibwe name for Lake Superior is gichi-gami, meaning “Great Sea”.

While there’s a lot more that we could say about Lake Superior, we’d just as happily refer to @geodesaurus on TikTok for some fun facts.

Our Lake Superior yarn is our deepest, darkest blue in the series with black, grey, navy, and deep mallard green tones.
