Third in our Gemstone series is Aquamarine!

Aquamarines are a pale blue to light green variety of beryl. It is extremely abundant, and therefore inexpensive (except for natural true blue aquamarine, which can get pretty expensive).

The word aquamarine is Latin for seawater. It was said to calm waves and keep sailors safe at sea (making this and our moody mermaid Pisces a perfect match). It's also said to enhance the happiness of marriages, for some reason (it's the gem of the 19th wedding anniversary).

Aquamarine contains no or few noticeable inclusions but it can have inclusions like mica, hematite, or salt-water. It's the state gemstone for Colorado!

Our suggested pairings for this yarn include Pisces and Aries (obviously), OstaraBeltane, HonkFirst Snow, Blizzard Wizard, Blizzard of OzPink Drink, Matcha Latte, Loveland (and really, any of our tonals).

Our Aquamarine is a baby blue tonal yarn, with some hints of pale green.
