Longaberger Picnic Basket

Did we create the Picnic mini collection specifically because we wanted to make the Longaberger Picnic Basket color way to add to our line up of tonals? ...maybe.

The Longaberger Picnic Basket is the World's Largest Basket, at seven stories tall. It's a replica - 160 times larger - of the Longaberger company's medium basket. It's 192 feet long and 126 feet wide at the bottom, spreading to 208 feet long and 142 feet wide at the roofline. It was built in 1997 and closed its door as the company's corporate headquarters in 2016. There were plans in 2019 to turn it into a luxury hotel, but plans fizzled and as of this writing, it remains empty. Somehow unsurprisingly, it is not the only Overly Large Basket in Ohio - the World's Largest Apple Basket is in Frazeysburg, a house sized picnic basket in Dresden, and Lorain is home to the Big Easter Basket.

Our Longaberger Picnic Basket yarn is a tonal warm, toffee brown. The color of a picnic basket!
