Our final water sign and our final fixed sign is that of Scorpio. Scorpio runs from October 23rd to November 21st, ruled traditionally by Mars (the planet of energy, action, desire) and ruled modernly by Pluto (the planet of subconscious forces, growth & rebirth, transformation). It is represented by the constellation Scorpius, which is an ancient constellation that predates the Greeks. Most commonly, this is represented by a Scorpion, but sometimes it is a snake or an eagle.

Scorpios are probably THE most misunderstood sign. They're a water sign, making them oftentimes brooding and moody, but they are also passionate problem-solvers and come with a to-do list that they *will* get done. They're mystery and keep their cards close to the chest. Sometimes they can be secretive and don't reveal their true thoughts - it's rare to meet a Scorpio that doesn't keep receipts.

Like their fellow water signs, Scorpios are driven by the emotional realm, but because of their intensity, they're often mistaken for a fire sign. Their fixed nature means they are can be stubborn and sometimes they lash out but they are extremely loyal. Absolutely your ride or dies. They've got sharp stingers, but they're ultimately big babies who need community and love just like the rest of us. It's all smoke and mirrors, which can earn them the reputation as the villain of the zodiac, but think of it within the context of the season - Halloween, Samhain, the dying leaves and the heart of fall. Are they really a villain, or do they just playing one?

Ruled by Pluto, they are a sign of rebirth - as well as death (ya damn spooky bastards) - so they do not fear the inevitable. They fear vulnerability, uncertainty, the mortal ordeal of Being Known, opening up... because that allows the possibility of people having power over them and what's scarier than that?

Like their predecessors, Libra and Virgo, you can find a lot of Scorpios in organizing and justice-centered spaces. What's going on with that, I wonder?

Our Scorpio yarn is a purple, black (of course) yarn, with a splash of violet and finished with gold speckles.
