Aquarius

We've got the 11th sign of the tropical Zodiac - Aquarius. Despite being the Water Bearer, Aquarius is actually an air sign. Think of it more as about the water passing THROUGH air — or, transmuting emotions by enacting radical change in society and culture. Aquarius has two rulers, Saturn, it's traditional ruler, and Uranus, it's modern ruler. Uranus is the planet that governs independence, innovation, humanitarian efforts, technology, and surprising events, and Saturn represents responsibility, hard work, and determination. (Fun fact: Saturn is currently in Aquarius, so if you're in and around 29 years old, you're experiencing your first Saturn return and you will be until next March.

Aquarius originates from the constellation Aquarius (surprise!) and the water bearer named is Ganymede, the son of Tros, king of Troy. While tending to his father's flocks on Mount Ida, Ganymede was spotted by Zeus. The king of gods fell in love with him and flew down to the mountain in the form of a large bird, whisking Ganymede away to the heavens. Ever since, the boy has served as cupbearer to the gods.

As a fixed sign, Aquarius are known to be stubborn and wed to their plans. As air signs, they're "of the mind" and focused on humanitarian efforts and changing the world. They are rooted in teamwork, collaboration, and pursuit of the "greater good" but often times are looking at implementing change from such a high vantage point, Aquarius can be seen as distant and aloof. I tend to view them as space cadets, not really here on this plane. You could consider them the revolutionary or the visionary of the Zodiac, including the limitations and downfall of such a position.

Aquarius are the weirdos, and we love that for them :)

Our Aquarius yarn is blend of light gray, ice blue, and lavendar, with grey and neon green speckles.
