Hang On Sloopy
$28.00Back for the month of May to celebrate five years of Dye Mad Yarns!
Ohio State fans will recognize this one! This is the Ohio state rock song (as in, the state of Ohio, not Ohio State) and has been played by the Ohio State marching band since a week after it topped the billboard charts in 1965. The woman mentioned – Sloopy – is actually a nickname for a woman named Dorothy Sloop, who was a singer that sometimes used Sloopy as a stage name.
The vibe I’m going for with this yarn is a 60s/70s tie dye and if you’ve ever seen the music video, I think fits the bill.
Hang On Sloopy, the yarn, is a vintage yellow, scarlet, and brown yarn with hints of grey.
